ChatGPT has left me a bit bewildered. Not surprising though. The answers given are not about accuracy, the research or the truth. This Ai is built on a large language model LLM’s. That have been compared to a stochastic parrot, which can string statistically probable words and sentences together, this creates an impression of intelligence and reason for a reader. In reality this statistically predictive text on steroids, does not really have a clue as about the topic, that it’s squawking about.

Brain research has resulted in a neuroboom (Grospietsch & Mayer., 2019) and neuromyths, (misconceptions about neuroscience) contain kernels of truth about “brain based learning” (Touloumakos et al., 2023). These kernels are often transferred into pedagogical practice. Yes, people might have visual, auditory, kinesthetic (VAK) preferences for learning. But changing a modality in your teaching to match learners’ preferences and to cater to their “learning style” is a misinterpretation of the facts. Which chatGPT excels at.
