Wikidata

Wikidata provides a valuable foundation for those who manage the digital footprints of academics.

As a structured knowledge base, Wikidata enables people, institutions and those responsible for sharing research to show this in a knowledge graph, or on Google's Knowledge Panel. The information stored on Wikidata allows information about academics work to be discovered, reused, and integrated across a wide range of digital platforms and applications.

    1. Knowledge graphs (KG) are used to represent knowledge in a structured and interconnected manne. The nodes in the KG are the entities of interest and the edges represent the relationships between these entities. Academic instiutions can capture real-world knowledge through a graph based abstraction of data.
