I&#8217;ve used the four phases found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/Special:UploadWizard\">Upload Wizard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Release Rights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Describe<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) <strong>Login to Learn (<\/strong>about sharing work openly with licenses)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A person who creates a photo, owns the copyright to the photograph. The photo copyright could be given away, or sold, under specific conditions. These terms are set by a legal document known as a license that specifies the nature of the agreement. A free license simply means the creator permits others to use his or her copyrighted photo without asking explicitly for permission. Open licenses make it easier to share pics with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) <strong>Upload your File<\/strong> from your device<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Select your photo<\/strong>. High quality images are better. You might want to size them consistently. Below you will see a picture I took of the Littlest Church at Van Reenen. If you comfortable with code, you could try these templates with option 4 (of course you have to modify).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">{{attribution|User:Derek J Moore|Weblearning}}<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">{{self|cc-by-4.0}}<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) <strong>Describe file Details<\/strong> and add extra data<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This part can skipped. But metadata is very useful later on, when you have many images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Choose a filename<\/strong>. I keep it short (and try to ensure that I have got the spelling right)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Add a caption<\/strong>. The writing below an image is the caption, it places the image in a context. You have 255-characters to write the description. You might want to add a vernacular caption too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Published date<\/strong>. Select the date when the image was first published<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Describe Further.&nbsp;<\/strong>Add additional information. This is optional, but helpful for others<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Insert a Wikidata item<\/strong>. There should be a main subject visible in the photo. Locate the Wikidata number and add structured data<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Add a specific category<\/strong>. When working with a batch of photos you might want to add a category or use an existing one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Location.<\/strong>&nbsp;You could add the geo-coordinates (or they might appear automatically)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MORE Additional information<\/strong>&nbsp;This is a hidden field. You might be uploading a map from open street maps. They you\u2019d use the template {{OpenStreetMap}}<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Post and Confirm<\/strong>. You are ready to finalise your post.
