{"id":59,"date":"2009-11-02T04:17:26","date_gmt":"2009-11-02T10:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.weblearning.co.za\/blog\/?p=59"},"modified":"2009-11-02T04:17:26","modified_gmt":"2009-11-02T10:17:26","slug":"wordled-my-thesis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weblearning.co.za\/blog\/wordled-my-thesis\/","title":{"rendered":"Wordled &#038; taguled my thesis"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_73\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73\" style=\"width: 252px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.weblearning.co.za\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/wordle_thesis_sm.png\" alt=\"wordle_thesis_sm\" title=\"wordle_thesis_sm\" width=\"252\" height=\"177\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-73\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wordle of my thesis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I hauled out the old thesis and copied &amp; pasted the text into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wordle.net\/\">Wordle<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/designedforlearning.wordpress.com\/\">Yishay<\/a> persuaded me to take it further and submit it to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/iwordledmythesis\/\">I wordled my thesis<\/a> group on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\">Flickr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The thesis seems more accessible as a tag cloud and, when enlarged, it visually  summerises the key words and  ideas contained in the document .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ggrosseck\/\">Gabriela<\/a> pointed me towards <a title=\"Tagul and wordle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tagul.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tagul <\/a> when she Twittered about it. <a title=\"Tagul and wordle\" href=\"http:\/\/tagul.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/tagul-wordle-and-myself\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex<\/a>, the designer of Tagul has taken the Wordle concept further and created a site that allows you to make clouds that can be &#8220;used on blogs, web pages .. as a replacement of ordinary tag clouds&#8221;.  As oposed to Wordle, where the tag cloud is a single image, each tag in Tagul is linked with an URL and is \u201cclickable\u201d. Take a look and see.
