I\u2019d created many online and digital resources, but my efforts were often solitary and conversations around the work were limited to individual &#8220;client&#8221; updates. Work felt insular and exchanges between educationalists ed-techies and developers were minimal.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OE4BW (an initiative to develop and deliver large-scale open resource or courses aligned with the SDGs) initiated freshness into work with new mentor conversations. The programme introduced me to a wider  &#8220;open&#8221; world and facilitated a 6 month journey of conversations, discovery &amp; collaboration between a mentors \/ mentees.  Dialogue had  benefits for all involved. I received inspiration, valuable feedback and felt re-included in a learning community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project combines warm &amp; caring relationship, regional hubs, a growing community that offers rich and stimulating expertise AND a visit to the awesome Vipava Valley in Slovenia. This free and international initiative has really been worth my time. I&#8217;ve been mentored (once) and acted as a mentee (twice)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2018 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.slideshare.net\/weblearning\/mlibrarian-badges-oe4bw-presentation\">Open badges for mlibrarians<\/a> &#8211; where I was a developer, mentored by Lance and Sandya<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2019 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/limina.co.za\/blog\/language-across-the-curriculum-a-free-course-for-teachers\/\">Teaching Language Across the Curriculum<\/a> &#8211; where I mentored Isabel (and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/verenanz\/status\/1146779248822312960?s=20\">presented<\/a> on her behalf) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2020 &#8211; Plain Language Multilingual Glossary &#8211; where I mentored Matilda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2021 &#8211; Designing an open online course that teaches people conversational Kiswahili &#8211; where I am mentoring Said Yunus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2023 &#8211; An open course on Social Media and Digital Well-being where I mentored Vicky and Waaiza. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are motivated develop &amp; deliver education technology that is open and for public good. If you want to <a href=\"https:\/\/padlet.com\/weblearning\/getting-to-know-you-ocbvt3v9bjeapwd1\">develop your portfolio<\/a> and show others what you know.
