Some are beautifully bound, hardcover books, available on shelves. For many, these classic books are associated with the smell of paper or the rustle of a page being turned. Digital offers opportunities to access certain timeless titles for free.\u00a0 Books, in the public domain, are no longer restricted by copyright laws.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/HkcpKU\">Ten\u00a0 public domain children\u2019s books you can read for free.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/dx5HG2\">E-readers and e-books questions<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>For the facilitator<\/h2>\n<p>In groups of three, participants will<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Choose a classic book (see the Public Domain list).<\/li>\n<li>Explore one of the three different routes to these classic texts.\n<ol>\n<li>Open Route &#8211; locate an ePub reader (either on your device or for download; I recommend the Bluefire reader).<\/li>\n<li>Proprietary route &#8211; download Kindle, create an Amazon account.<\/li>\n<li>Reading on a browser route\u00a0 &#8211; choose a browser that allows you the option to read later (Opera or Chrome is best. )<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Download and open the e-reader needed to access such texts (the proprietary, open and web reader).<\/li>\n<li>Go to m.Gutenberg.org .<\/li>\n<li>Download the classic book that you chose in step 1.<\/li>\n<li>Open the book in the E-reader you installed.<\/li>\n<li>Answer the ebooks questions for your reading route.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1449\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1449\" style=\"width: 575px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1449\" src=\"https:\/\/weblearning.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/pic_p1_app_browser.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"575\" height=\"575\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1449\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reading Routes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mliteracy &#8211; Activities Instructions for participants Children\u2019s classics can often be found on the shelves in our libraries.
